Blowing Rock, NC Cabin Remodel

This project started with jacking up the post and beam former barn. Next I added new footing/support posts and re-laid the rock foundation.

I added a covered porch and deck with stainless steel cables.

Metal roof and transition flashing to match existing roof.

Repainted/stained entire building inside/outside. Added porch lighting and wi-fi security flood lights. New front door with smart keypad lock.

Built soffit.

Added triple wall stainless steel chimney flue for new woodstove.

Framed wall for stove pipe, laid rocks from property, new floor tile.

Repaired/leveled damaged stone floor to prepare for new vinyl plank flooring.

New kitchen: wall tile, floor tile, cabinets, countertop, plumbing, cooktop, microwave w/through wall exhaust, solid wood bar top, floating wall shelves, window/door trim, metal ceiling, new light fixtures with dimmers.

New bathroom/laundry room: Repaired floor framing/subfloor, new framing, added plumbing for shower/ sink/washer, backerboard for all tile fiberglass insulation, foamboard, spray foam, caulk. Schluter shower pan and waterproofing membrane. Tile, drywall, primer/paint, toilet, cabinet, sink, floating corner shelves, towel bars, lights, wall heater, etc.

Master closet/bookcases w/louvered doors and new light. Wrapped collar ties, added window trim, stairwell guardrail/handrail, baseboard heater, lights, stain/polyurethane, paint, foam, caulk, etc.
